Prunus padus, better known as bird cherry or native bird cherry, is a small to medium-sized tree native to Europe, Asia and North Africa.
This tree is known for its striking, drooping clusters of white flowers in spring, followed by small black berries in late summer.
Although the berries are edible to birds, they can be poisonous to humans. Bird Cherry thrives in a variety of soil conditions and is often found in forests, along rivers and in parks as a valuable source of food and cover for wildlife.
